Super Science

This half term, we have been learning all about PLANTS! We have been super scientists and some of the things we have explored include seeing how water can be transported to other parts of a plant by the stem, learning how bees and other insects pollinate plants by using post-it notes and buzzing around the field, transferring ‘pollen’ and discovering what plants need to grow healthily.

We have also been learning about the rainforest in our Geography topic learning and discovering the importance of looking after them! Thank you for all your support with our ‘Green Day’ for the rainforest. We used the rainforest as our inspiration for an art project and we have created our own unique leaf which has been put altogether to make our own class canopy from the rainforest. We spent lots of time looking closely at different leaves and sketching them to help us design ours. Alsongside our giant art piece, we also sketched some ‘mindful leaves’ using just pencil. See below at some of our beautiful pieces we have created.

I hope you have a wonderful, restful half term break and I’m looking forward to seeing you all for Summer 2! Miss Mansell
