Today we all enjoyed some popcorn as we watched the virtual Christmas Panto! We all thought it was really funny, especially when Mrs Smith was the biscuit thief!
Christmas Dinner and a Surprise Visit!
Today we all made Christmas hats ready to wear for the Christmas dinner. It was delicious and we listened to some festive music whilst eating to keep us feeling extra jolly!
This afternoon we had a special visit from Mrs Smith who brought us some presents from Santa! We love our new Frozen puzzle, tool kit and monster game! Thank you Santa!
Everyone should have been emailed the link for our Nativity today. We have watched it in school and the children say “We LOVE it”. I hope you all do too… it definitely makes us smile and laugh 🙂
Getting Creative!
Over the past few weeks we have enjoyed making some Christmas crafts like paper chains, playdough challenge snowmen (which then evolved into monsters and hedgehogs!), stockings, tree decorations and much more of the children’s own ideas!
12 Days of Christmas Competition
Grayling 4 have worked with Mrs Rothman to create a Damers window display in Dorchester town as part of the window trail! Why don’t you go on a Christmas hunt for all 12 windows and see if you win the prize? 🙂
Christmas is coming!
Today the children helped to decorate our classroom with a tree, decorations, lights and tinsel! We also counted all the sounds and tricky bugs we have learnt so far…. wow how clever are we?!
Our Junior Governors
Today we were lucky to have a video call from our year 4 Junior Governors! They asked us how we were feeling about the Coronavirus and we talked about some new things we would like in school to keep us smiling. Some suggestions included a bouncy castle but we agreed on some more realistic things like glittery paint and another go-cart for our playground! It was lovely to chat to our Governors virtually 🙂
The week in pictures….
We have also been practising our Christmas play a lot and the children have loved learning new songs and actions. Please remember costumes worn to school next Wednesday 25th and the following Friday 4th! Any problems, please email me via the Foundation email account 🙂
Kindness Day ♥️
Grayling Foundation looked amazing dressed up as many different kind people including doctors, family members, firemen and themselves. We also listened to a story about being bucket fillers and we are going to earn rainbow sticks by trying our best to be kind everyday at school. Lovely to get a whole class photo smiling and signing a heart! Have a great weekend everyone!
Exploring 🍂
Today we explored some outdoor areas of our school and discovered the pond area! We used our senses to look for animal homes, nature and we even found a door belonging to a mouse (or the tooth fairy!). We cannot wait to visit the pond again and explore some other areas later this week.
Dough Gym!
This week, we began dough gym and we all love exercising our fingers and hands! I am so proud at how organised the children are at coming into class, finding their place and beginning their dough gym tasks independently.
