We have been getting our Art work ready for the Dorset Art Exhibition that is taking place at the Jubliee Hall and Pips Cafe on Poundbury from Saturday 14th May to 1st June, 10am – 4pm.
Come along and see what we have produced. Here is a sneaky peak.
We have been reading a book called It’s Up to Us in Literacy.
Can you make one small change to help protect the planet? Every little act counts. Together we can make a difference! Please email your pledge to Year1@damers.dorset.sch.uk
Please have a go with your child at home using the the letter formation powerpoint below. Please make sure your child writes the letters on the line correctly.
A member of the public was amazed by this young man from G1 litter picking her road. He asked if he could litter pick the owners front garden making it clean and free of litter. He has inspired the mums sons to do litter picking too and they go to the Prince of Wales School!
Well done! If you have photos of your son or daughter litter picking out and about please share them. Email Year1@damers.dorset.sch.uk
The Big Plastic Count is a simple yet impactful way to discover your household plastic footprint, whilst contributing vital evidence to push the government for long overdue change. The figures collected will be part of a report that will go to the government to show them it is time for change and to commit to reducing single plastic use by 50% by 2025 by switching to reusable options that work for everyone – and ban sending our waste to other countries. The campaign is being led by GreenPeace UK and Everyday Plastics
Count your plastic for one week – 16-22 May 2022.
Across the country, households of all shapes and sizes, schools, community groups and businesses, will gather new evidence.
How much plastic are we really having to throw away, and what happens to it?
