Grayling Foundation looked amazing dressed up as many different kind people including doctors, family members, firemen and themselves. We also listened to a story about being bucket fillers and we are going to earn rainbow sticks by trying our best to be kind everyday at school. Lovely to get a whole class photo smiling and signing a heart! Have a great weekend everyone!
Exploring 🍂
Today we explored some outdoor areas of our school and discovered the pond area! We used our senses to look for animal homes, nature and we even found a door belonging to a mouse (or the tooth fairy!). We cannot wait to visit the pond again and explore some other areas later this week.
Dough Gym!
This week, we began dough gym and we all love exercising our fingers and hands! I am so proud at how organised the children are at coming into class, finding their place and beginning their dough gym tasks independently.
Bonfire night 🎆
Today the children created some bright firework artwork to celebrate bonfire night. During discussions, they were very sensible recognising how to stay safe whilst enjoying fireworks and sparklers.
Parents Evening reminder
It has been lovely to chat to some of you this evening about how well your children are settling in to Grayling Foundation. They are such a positive, fun and kind class 🙂
Just a reminder that I will continue with calls throughout next week 3.30-6 every evening so if you receive a call from a withheld number then it could be me! If there is a certain day or time that suits you best then feel free to email foundation@damers.dorset.sch.uk to let me know.
Enjoy your weekends,
Miss Baker
Friday!
Today we all had a look and celebrated our hard work in our phoneme books. It was lovely to see beautiful drawings, pictures, writing and stickers inside 🙂
We also wanted to share with you our favourite song in Grayling. We all feel a bit cold after lunch time play so we warm up with some dances. Mr. Pumpernickle is such a groovy dancer and so are we! This song and more can be found on our Songs page at the top of the blog.

Meet and Greet
Thank you to those who joined us yesterday for the Foundation Meet and Greet Zoom call. If you were unable to join then you should have now received an email where you can watch the recording of it. Please remember that any questions can be answered by emailing the school office. Here is an accompanying leaflet for your information.
P.E!
Today we had our first P.E lesson. We had a go at an obstacle course with hopping, crawling, jumping, throwing, balancing, climbing and running! What great fun we all had 🙂
Learning sounds!
This week we are going to start learning our sounds to help us to read and write! When we got to school this morning we noticed a friendly rainbow monster on Miss Baker’s shelf! He had been eating things from our classroom. Scissors, snake, star and string…. all these things begin with the sound sssssss! He must be a sound monster and we will check his zippy mouth tomorrow to see what objects he has eaten over night. You will notice that you have been given sound books today. You could try remember the objects that the monster has eaten to help you think of pictures to draw in your book 🙂
Who am I?
This week we have started to talk about ourselves. What do we look like? Who do we live with? Where do we live?
We all had a go at being artists! We carefully looked in the mirror to notice our facial features and decide what colour paint to use to paint a self portrait. What amazing paintings we now have to display in our school corridor 🙂
